*nods* It's astonishing how important those early books/tv show/movies/ etc are.

I haven't been reading much fic--in part, I think, because I've been watching the series in tandem with two young girls, the daughters of a friend of mine, and sometimes RL and fandom don't mix well. If you read anything amazing, would you send me a link?
