Great analysis of the series. I finished watching episodes 2 & 3 last night, and was thinking a bit about why my interest in the show had decreased the more that I watched. I think if there had some attempt to show the pov of supporting characters like Donovan or even Lestrade, I might have been drawn in despite the problems. But the perspective that you outline is so solid, no significant cracks or corners for difference or doubt.
