So very, very glad to be home again, flist! After a conference in the NYC area last weekend, I found myself on enforced holiday at my brother's, since there was no way to get back home. And while my brother's house was lucky enough to retain power and avoid falling trees and power lines, thank goodness, and I had a wonderful time with the nephews, and I slept in every day, I'm still glad to be back in my own apartment, typing on my own computer, reading the flist, and returning to my routines. My thoughts are with everyone whose lives have been rearranged by nature this week. I know the aftermath of the storm will pose hardships for many.

I missed doing my annual summer mini-fest this year, so I was doubly happy to see [livejournal.com profile] hp_halloween return this year. I love this comm and always enjoy meeting new-to-me folks over there. Drabbles are two hundred words, just enough space to tell a story, and quite a few are filled with autumnal goodness.

My gift from [livejournal.com profile] katelinmr is a thought-provoking interior monologue, written in response to a request for a drabble on "the complexities of being whoever you are:" Finally, George, 200 words, PG-13. George thinks back on Fred after the war, only not in the way we'd expect.

My own contribution for [livejournal.com profile] kirasha: Cold Front, Remus, Molly, Bill, Peter, 200 words, PG. The Burrow is warm, but outside a storm is coming.

Anyone writing this November? I'm working on a couple of projects with the support of fellow MiFus over at [livejournal.com profile] wrisomifu. Good luck if you're churning out the words this month!
