An interesting article on a series of books I devoured as a teenager and am now a bit ashamed to admit I read: Dark Family: VC Andrews and the Secret Life of Girls (Thanks to busaikko for pointing this out.)

On an unrelated note: I'm supposed to be on airplane on Thursday morning, but the snow predictions are making me nervous. Cross your fingers for me?

Aww, never be ashamed of VC Andrews! Those books were our generation's Twilight. XD

I was about to say that the key thing about the VS Andrews books was their lack of irony or cynicism--I had Hunger Games in mind as a comparison--but you're right, Twilight's a better analogy.

All this makes me want to go find a copy of Flowers in the Attic and try to remember what I was I liked so much about those books! M.
