Elected from California's 41st, a right-leaning Inland Empire congressional district: the first LGBT Asian American representative, Mark Takano. Takano, a Democrat and a JA high school English teacher from Riverside, CA, had previously run for this seat in 1992 and 1994. (Both of which I remember taking place in a bitter and homophobic atmosphere.) Congrats, Takano!
