Why does November have such a bad reputation? Here in the US, at least, it's a month of electoral victories, long weekends, and...drumroll...birthdays!

Birthday wishes go out to flisters rotaryphones, lls_mutant, topaz_eyes, andxylodemon. (A formidable amount of wordsmith power in that group, isn't there?) Enjoy this next year, all!

I love these gourds! They make great jack-o-lanterns, too. (One year we were late in buying pumpkins for Halloween, so we carved up a squash too. It looked rather awesome.)

I love all the colors and textures and shapes! (And, er, my counter's not usually that cluttered, sorry.) This year, there were a lot of the "goose neck" gourds--like the one on the left, in the back, with a long, graceful neck-stem that make them look like they're leaning toward you. They'd be amazing jack-o-lanterns.
