Just back from the world's quickest trip to NYC for work and a family visit. A few travel-related items:

* Long-distance bus travel: hours of enforced immobility, spent thigh-to-thigh with a perfect stranger. Good times.

* Have bruise growing on forehead from an accidental encounter with four-year-old nephew. Tiny boy, big whoomp.

* Why did I not know about Food Gallery 32 and the other fast-food options in Koreatown before? Fast, cheap, and three blocks from Penn Station. No more refrigerated sandwiches ever again!

And in other news:

* The New York Times is generally tone-deaf to issues of class privilege, but this opinion piece on a millionaire's attempts at minimalist living was pretty breath-taking. Luckily, there are some great snarky and outraged letters to the editor this week.

* Clever, funny, true: Radio-Friendly Pop Song by out gay artist Matt Fishel.

* Generally, I avoid store-bought baked goods because, well, you know--serious misallocation of treasured carb calories. But I've been enjoying these chocolate sugar cookies from Target (like these but "cookies and creme" flavored) to an almost unholy extent. Also, mini sweet bell peppers, yum.

What are you enjoying eating this week, flist?

I like that food court! :D Woorijip also has pretty decent (and cheap!) ready-made food, for future reference.

A friend of mine linked to another good response to that NYT piece on Tumblr: Wealth, risk, and stuff.

I've recently been blown away by how delicious brussels sprouts can be, sauteed or roasted with olive oil and served with goat cheese.
