Well. A scratchy throat early last week led to a touch of the flu, which then put me out of commission until the weekend. Then I had some traveling to do, and suddenly I'm frantically playing catch-up and wondering how in the world we got to the end of February.

All of which is to say I don't have much for you, flist. I'll offer some vicarious conversations, instead.



Young woman #1: I know, I have a lot of hair. I'm, like, 80% hair and 10% body.
Young woman #2: *expectant pause*
Young woman #1: *blithely moving on* Did you talk to Tim? etc. etc.



New Jersey mother: We're almost there, Andrew. Do you remember the one rule about New York?
Little Andrew: *thinks* Don't run, look both ways, don't talk to strangers...
New Jersey mother: Hold my hand.
Little Andrew: Oh! Okay.

The touching thing about the one really important rule was it was clearly intended for mutual support. They were excited for a day out but a bit nervous, too. M.
