I've been so irritable and unfocused lately, flist. But rather than complain about that, I can say that the upside is I've been watching some tv, which has been fun.

* Has anyone else seen The Bletchley Circle? We've just finished the first series, and while it was a little too stressful for me, I really enjoyed the characters and the concept.

* We also watched the Live Action Shorts that were nominated for an Oscar, and I'm *astonished* that Helium beat out Just Before Losing Everything, which was the most emotionally involving film I've watched in years.

* I also just realized that I only have seventeen more hours to watch the first two episodes of The Brits Who Built the Modern World. Has anyone seen this series? Is it worth rearranging my day for? (Anyone? No? British high tech architecture might be a niche fandom.) Dilemmas, dilemmas...

* Very curious about Blandings, recently recced by [livejournal.com profile] chiralove and [livejournal.com profile] woldy.

* Anything else you'd recommend?

I did not know Blandings was a thing. I don't know the Blandings stories well, but I love Jeeves and Wooster so having something new and silly and fun sounds delightful. I'm going to keep an eye out for it.

I enjoyed the first series of The Bletchley Circle a lot. Though yes, it is very tense in spots. But awesome ladies solving murders is a genre I am very fond of. *g* I haven't watched the second series yet, but it's on my list.
