This is what living in a heteronormative society does to you: despite wanting it, despite looking for clues, I spent the last three or four minutes of the last episode thinking "They're not going to do it. That looks like...but no, they're not going to do it." Even after it ended, the better half turned to me and said "Was that what I thought it was?"

And...the *real* final scene, the one you were waiting for, created by a fan here. For a little closure.

I saw a comment somewhere last night that ran something like this: Avatar was a better series, but Korra captured your heart. I agree that Korra was uneven (were the writers talking about their own experiences when they said that all of life is a bumpy ride?) and that there was something very engaging about Korra, even when it was rushed or dull or painfully off.

Anyways. I may have some more coherent thoughts later on, but for now I wanted to share my joy.

In other news, there's still grading to be done, but I took the night off last night and slept in this morning, and I'm finally feeling a bit more like myself again. I can't work the way I used to--I'm quicker to get tired, less productive, irritable and cranky all the time. I'm just now getting some gifts for family and friends and starting to make our new year's card and catching up with [livejournal.com profile] rs_small_gifts and some of the entries at Snupin Santa and [livejournal.com profile] holmestice. Thank goodness [livejournal.com profile] hoggywartyxmas runs a little later in the month, when life isn't quite so hectic.

Hope you're all doing well as 2014 draws to a close!
