Folks, I am amused that a full 60% of flisters responding to last week's poll indicated that they were either an INTROVERT! or Mostly an introvert, with occasional social moments. I'm sure fandom skews introverted generally, but have I unknowingly befriended a particularly introverted group of you? For the record, 27% of you feel you are a combination of introvert and extrovert, 9% of you indicated that you were Mostly an extrovert, with occasional solitary moments, and only one person clicked on EXTROVERT! (*waves at [info]midnitemaraud_r*)

We have our first signs of fall colors here this week. I grew up in southern California and learned about the seasons in school (leaves! pumpkins! snowmen! daffodils!), but, to be honest, I never really understood them until moving to the east coast. And I'm still not won over. What's wrong with sunny skies and warm weather all the time?

Do the four seasons actually describe the changes in weather, light, foliage, etc. where you live? Do you have a favorite time of year that doesn't fall into the categories listed above?

I'm a total introvert; I find it easier to interact with people online. I'm terrified at the idea of meeting someone from fandom in person. Believe me, I do not come across as sociable at all in real life. :-(

They do, but--it's hard to explain? We don't get much snow, for example, so the prairies stay brown in winter, but it can get bloody cold. Like, -30 to -40 Fahrenheit cold for days on end. Summer can get bloody hot. Like, 95 to 105 degrees hot for days on end. (Luckily it's a dry cold and dry heat.) Plus, we have sun for 18 hours a day in summer. Our leaves in fall don't have the variety in color; they're more a uniform shade of yellow.

Spring is gorgeous out here though: everything is so green it hurts. Our rainy season is June.
